Dermals & Fillers

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Botox
Tiny amounts of Dysport® are injected directly into the facial muscles underlying the frown lines. It usually takes three to five small, almost painless injections between the eyebrows for an effective treatment. No local anaesthetic is usually required but if you are concerned the skin can be numbed prior to the treatment.  You can expect treatment to take around 10-20 minutes after your consultation in which time Christine will ask you about your expectations, look closely at how you ‘mobilise’ and move your face and advise on the best option for you. Over the next few days, the muscles gradually relax. You probably won’t notice it happening – you’ll just become aware that you can’t contract your frown muscles or around your eyes. But because you can still blink normally and raise your eyebrows, you will not look unnatural. Everyone will notice – no-one will know…

The lasting effect of treatment with Dysport® can differ between individuals, but is generally around four months. Many people find that after several treatments they don’t need another one for longer, because they have “unlearned” the habit of frowning or squinting that originally led to the development of these lines. A nice outcome!

Fillers
Hyaluronic acid, the active ingredient in dermal fillers, is a natural substance that is found in all living organisms, in particular the soft connective tissue in the body and in the fluid surrounding the eyes. Filler injections help to boost the body’s own reserves by attracting hydration to the area, and reducing the effects of a thinning epidermis leaving your skin looking refreshed and luminous.

A filler treatment is mildly uncomfortable and takes around 60 minutes to treat one area. Different fillers are used in different areas of the face to provide the best support and result; the longevity of the filler is dependent on the area treated and the filler used. Results are immediate and Christine selects which type of filler to use for the area of your face being treated, based on the malleability of the product and what it is needed to restore. Normal activities can be resumed immediately following treatment. The short-term side effects of fillers may include temporary site redness, swelling and tenderness.

This amazing treatment enhances thin lips, softens wrinkles and lines, restores youthful volume to facial folds and creases, hydrates and improves the appearance of recessed scarring. Come and get your fill!
